The De La Salle University-Student Council has truly dedicated its existence in empowering students in protecting their rights, promoting their welfare, and in partaking in social transformation. As they continue this worthwhile endeavor, they have tackled the idea of combining Engineering and Nation-building, two seemingly unrelated areas but actually quite complimentary to each other.
NEO Gave away goody bags to lucky students
Now on its second year, the National Engineering Congress for Students (NECS09) with the theme “Lakas ng Inhinyero, Progresibong Pilipino! : Engineers Bridging Filipinos Towards a Progressive Society.” Held last November 13 and 14, the event focused mainly on nation-building, discussing the role of engineering students and how they can have an effect in next year’s national elections and beyond.
Mr. Bits Victoria, NEO's Customer Service Manager, giving a talk on one of the parallel sessions
Current trends in engineering-related technologies was also presented and NEO, one of the leading laptop manufacturers in the market today, and being a locally traded company itself, joined in one of the parallel sessions to discuss the current trend in ultra-thin laptops. NEO's very own “EDGE Series” laptops was the main focus of the talk, discussing the technology and the Filipino ingenuity behind the breakthrough product.
See you again next year for the NECS 2010 as its legacy in will definitely continue in building the nation, building a better Philippines.
